The Executive Committee of the University of Ilorin Alumni Association has been made aware that Dr. Wale Fashakin continues to impersonate the President of the Association.

His recent impersonation of the University of Ilorin Alumni Association President at different fora is a shameful and unacceptable act.

This behavior undermines the integrity of the association and brings discredit to the esteemed reputation of the institution.

We strongly condemn this impersonation and alert all stakeholders and wish to bring to the awareness of the public of Dr. Fashakin’s nefarious and disgraceful acts and those of his cohorts, especially a recent visit to the Controller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service Mrs Kemi Nanna Nandap and his recent purported inauguration of the Board of Trustee for the Association. We advise against dealing with him on behalf of the Unilorin Alumni Association.

For the records, his tenure came to an abstruct end in 2021 through a resolution of Congress due to gross abuse of office, high handedness, and betrayer of the association’s trust and constitution.

In his stead, a Caretaker Committee was for 3 years in the saddle of the association’s activities till August 24th, 2024, when election was held to usher in a new set of Executive.

It should be noted that the election held 6 months after his tenure, assuming he was not removed through a Congress resolution.

In the same vein, we invite the Nigerian Police and the Department of State Security Service to invite him for questioning as his action is capable of causing a breach of the University of Ilorin’s peace.

Chief Olorunsuwa Elijah Ola is the
National Publicity Secretary of the association.
