Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has restated his commitment to fulfilling the terms of the social contract between the government and the people.

Wike made this declaration on Wednesday during the flag-off ceremony of the 12-kilometer Kabusa-Ketti access road in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

The minister emphasized that governance is not a difficult venture, but rather a contract that must be fulfilled. He noted that politicians make promises to the people during electioneering, and it is their duty to deliver on those promises once elected.

During the ceremony, Wike also granted an immediate request from some youths for a senior secondary school in Ketti. He charged the contractor handling the road project to deliver within six months, coinciding with the second anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

AMAC Chairman Christopher Maikalangu expressed gratitude to the minister for his various projects in the council. He recalled the abduction and killing of a traditional ruler in the area by bandits, highlighting the need for improved security and infrastructure in the region.

Wike’s commitment to delivering on his promises is a welcome development for the residents of Abuja, who have been eagerly awaiting the completion of various infrastructure projects in the city.
