A devastating auto crash in Ore, Ondo state, has claimed the lives of three policemen and a female suspect.
The incident occurred when a truck descending the Ore bridge lost control and rammed into the police vehicle conveying the detectives and the suspect.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the trailer, coming from the Ijebu-Odu axis, crossed the median and crashed into the police vehicle, killing everyone inside instantly.

A fourth police detective sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby private hospital.
Funmi Odunlami, the image maker of the state police command, confirmed the incident, describing it as “unfortunate.”
“It’s a sad day for us, and we commiserate with the families of the deceased,” Odunlami said.
Samuel Ibitoye, the State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), attributed the accident to overspeeding by the trailer driver.
“The driver lost control of the vehicle, which resulted in the tragic accident. We urge drivers to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits to prevent such incidents,” Ibitoye said.
The remains of the casualties have been deposited in the state hospital morgue in Ore. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
