Lagos – Personal Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Constituency Affairs, Hon. Kareem Khadijah Omotayo, officially opened her constituency office in Surulere, aiming to enhance citizen-government engagement.
At the inauguration ceremony, attended by community leaders and All-Progressives Congress (APC) party members, Omotayo expressed her commitment to fostering communication between the federal government and community members. “I am dedicated to bridging the gap between communities and the federal government. I will ensure our people’s voices are heard at the highest level of government,” she stated.
In a demonstration of her commitment to community welfare, Hon. Omotayo distributed food packs along with cash assistance to 1,400 individuals. Additionally, she allocated N200,000 to various members of the constituency for empowerment initiatives.
Omotayo emphasized the importance of sustained support for President Tinubu’s reforms, which she believes will solidify the country’s foundations for progress. “My office will provide a platform for you to share your concerns, ideas, and feedback, ensuring that your voices are represented at the highest level of power on community development,” she detailed.

Inviting community involvement, she encouraged locals to join her in shaping a prosperous future for their constituency. “Let’s work hand in hand to build a better future, a prosperous tomorrow for ourselves, our children, and our generations to come,” she added.
In her speech, Hon. Omotayo expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and pledged to continue her support for the community. Her initiatives in Surulere Local Government have included educational interventions, such as providing scholarships, JAMB forms, and sponsoring debate competitions for secondary schools within Education District IV. She has also extended assistance to small-scale traders and covered medical expenses for patients.
Rt. Hon. Fuad Laguda, House of Representatives member representing Surulere Constituency 1, praised Omotayo’s efforts, stating that her initiatives will significantly improve the quality of life for the constituents.
He remarked, “Human wants are insatiable. So, everything has to continue. Human wants increase. It is an ongoing thing, and should be sustained by her, and every other public officer holder should emulate this.”
Additionally, Dr. Aisha Jimoh-Gold from Felak Concept Group lauded Omotayo as an exemplary public official. “She understands what grassroots is. Going to different constituencies to understand the basic needs of people is her strength. She is capable of what she is doing. She has accepted the job that she’s been assigned to do, and she’s delivering on that purpose. The impact is very visible for people to see,” she stated.
