The Nigeria Police Force has raised an alarm over the persistent misuse of the Inspector-General of Police’s name and office by unscrupulous individuals and police officers.
This fraudulent tactic is used to intimidate victims into believing that the IGP is aware of and approves their illegal activities, deterring them from reporting such incidents.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Police Force is concerned about the unprofessional conduct of some officers, which undermines the standards and reputation of the Force.
