    Okpebholo swears in three judges 17 months after NJC clearance

    BENIN CITYSEVENTEEN months after they were cleared by the National Judicial Commission (NJC) and five months after five of their colleagues were sworn in, the governor of Edo state, Sen.

    Monday Okpebholo on Monday has sworn-in the remaining three Judges out of the eight that were cleared by the National Judicial Commission (NJC) in June 2023.

    The governor who supervised the swearing in of the judges into the Bench of Edo State High Court at the Festival Hall in Government House, recalled that in his inaugural speech, he had promised to look into the case.

    A statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua quoted Okpebholo as urging the judges not to be discriminatory or marginalize anybody for personal reasons or on account of not having a godfather.
