Ndigbo Unity Forum urges Tinubu to release Nnamdi Kanu to restore peace in Southeast

Published on

The Ndigbo Unity Forum (NUF) has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to restore peace in the Southeast region.

The group stated that the continued detention of Kanu has led to persistent sit-at-home practices every Monday, resulting in huge losses for businesses and depriving children of education.

NUF called on Southeast governors, senators, and traditional rulers to meet with President Tinubu to secure Kanu’s release and reduce tensions in the region.

The group also urged Southeast governors to prioritize the development of the zone, improve security, and harness the agricultural sector to boost the economy.
