The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing has reaffirmed its commitment to the rotational provisions of the organization’s constitution, emphasizing that it is the turn of Rivers State to produce the next President General.

According to Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, National President of the youth wing, the rotational arrangement is essential for maintaining unity and fairness among Ndigbo. He warned that any attempt to compromise this principle would be met with stiff resistance.

The youth wing made this declaration in a communiqué issued after their 57th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Enugu. They also called on other organs of Ohanaeze Ndigbo to rise up and provide leadership for Ndigbo at this crucial moment.

In addition, the group commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and South East governors for the befitting funeral accorded to late President General, Chief Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu. However, they lamented the alleged financial embezzlement and misappropriation of the group’s account, calling on the Economic Financial and Crime Commission (EFCC) to investigate and probe into the matter.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing also expressed concern about the continuous suffering of Nigerians due to the high cost of energy and other related commodities. They urged the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, NNPCL, and other federal parastatals to provide corporate social responsibilities that would give Igbo youths a sense of belonging and contribute to national unity, stability, and security.
