The Nigeria Police Force has congratulated retired Commissioner of Police, Fatai A. Owoseni, on his conferment with the prestigious title of Atunluse-Ilu Adini of Oyo State.
The honour was bestowed on the retired senior police officer by the Chief Imam of Ibadan in conjunction with the League of Imams and Alfas of Oyo State, in recognition of his enduring contributions to peace, security, and community development.
Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin in a statement described the conferment as “a fitting tribute to CP Owoseni’s exemplary leadership, integrity, and steadfast commitment to national service and societal harmony”.
CP Owoseni served the Nigeria Police Force with distinction for over 35 years, rising through the ranks to the position of Commissioner of Police.
During his illustrious career, he held strategic leadership roles across several formations and departments, including the CP Lagos and Benue State Commands, the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), and the Department of Operations at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
He also represented Nigeria on international assignments, serving in United Nations peacekeeping missions in Darfur, Sudan, and Angola, where he provided expert guidance on policing, security sector reform, and transitional operations.
An accomplished scholar and security expert, CP Owoseni holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies (Security Sector Management) from the University of Ibadan and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of Benin.
He has further enhanced his expertise through extensive international professional training in security management, emergency response, and conflict resolution.
Since his retirement from active service, CP Owoseni has remained deeply engaged in public service.
He currently serves as Special Adviser on Security and Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund, a security consultant to JAMB, Principal Partner at HK-George Consults Limited, and founder of the Ayesha-Nihinlola Foundation, through which he supports educational and social initiatives for vulnerable communities.
The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on behalf of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, congratulated CP Fatai A. Owoseni (Rtd) on the well-deserved recognition and wished him continued good health, fulfillment, and
lasting impact in service to the people of Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
