The messenger of death visited sister Naheemah, a journalist and mother. She left from this sinful world.

A reporter with the Daily Trust Newspapers in the Lagos Bureau. She worked tirelessly for the Daily Trust brand across the southwest of Nigeria.

Very diligent,caring, and a jolly good fellow. I met her on the reportorial duty in Lagos ten years ago.

She consistently sends invitations for assignments to me and assists me in pushing stories for publications in the Daily Trust Lagos /Southwest page. The journalism profession afforded great opportunity to express herself, fàìth and travel across the world.

She participated actively in media unionism as a member of the National Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ from Daily Trust chapel of the NUJ Lagos state Council.

Sister Naheemah, as fondly called, became a media entrepreneur with the establishment of an online platform – APNews. This media initiative has been her contribution to the growing online media business and gradually being taken over by trained journalists. She had complained about delayed payment of salaries from Daily Trust then. I gave my blessings to this venture as Chairman NUJ Lagos State ,2017-2020.

The online media platforms blossom, and she also became a member of the JAMB media and CSO group, mon̈itoring university examinations and attending annual media briefings by Professor Ishaq Oloyede.

While on active media work , she took ill, and this had a great toll on her media tasks. Though she recovered but I am devastating reading about her sudden death.

May Allah bless her soul and give the family fortitude to bear the loss.

According to Islam, it is from Allah swt , will come and unto him him we shall return.
