Engr. Nasir Giwa, Secretary of the Board of Trustees, outlined the committee’s responsibilities, emphasizing its role in ensuring the foundation’s operational efficiency.
Keynote speaker Professor Muritala Aderemi Bidmos highlighted the organization’s significance, particularly in addressing poverty and out-of-school children. He posed critical questions to guide the technical committee’s work, emphasizing the importance of zakat, sadaqah, and waqf in promoting Muslim unity and social welfare.
Professor Bidmos referenced the Quran, underscoring the rationale behind these institutions: preventing wealth concentration, promoting awareness of increasing wealth, recognizing recipients’ rights, and acknowledging Allah’s ownership of wealth.
The Ibile Muslim Community Zakat and Sadaqah Foundation aims to aid the needy and enhance social and economic empowerment within the Muslim community, adhering to Quranic and Sunnah teachings.
The inauguration ceremony, conducted via Zoom, was attended by notable Muslim leaders and members of the foundation’s Board of Trustees.
“Ibile Zakat Foundation seeks assistance from esteemed brothers and sisters with competence and expertise in finance and zakat management,” Professor Bidmos noted.
With this technical committee in place, the foundation is poised to make a significant impact in the Muslim community.
“I urge the committee members to bring their wealth of knowledge to bear,” Sheikh Abou-Nolla said. “Together, we can make a difference.”
