    Fire of Jealousy: Husband sets wife ablaze over allegations of infidelity

    A Tragic incident has occurred in Anambra State, Nigeria, where a middle-aged woman, Chioma Nwana, died on Wednesday morning after being set ablaze by her husband.

    The incident, which took place on Tuesday at Eziezekwe village in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area, was allegedly sparked by the husband’s accusations of infidelity.
    According to sources, the husband had confronted his wife upon her return home on Tuesday evening, accusing her of being unfaithful. The altercation escalated, resulting in the husband pouring petrol on his wife and setting her on fire.
    The victim, who sustained severe burns, was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday morning. She is survived by six children.

    The husband, who reported himself to the Abagana Divisional Police Station, has been detained and is currently in police custody.
    The Anambra State Police Public Relations officer Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident and stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Itam, has directed that the case be transferred to the Homicide Unit for further investigation.
