    Police smash crime syndicates, rescue 302 kidnap victims

    In A major crackdown on crime, the Nigerian Police Force has announced the arrest of 179 armed robbery suspects, 100 kidnap suspects, and the rescue of 302 kidnapped victims from various gangs across the country.

    According to Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, “In this regard, the Police recorded the arrest of 179 armed robbery suspects, 100 kidnapping suspects, 152 Murder/homicide suspects… and recovery of 73 various firearms, 310 ammunition of various calibers.

    “The Police also recovered 134 prohibited firearms, 1,012 ammunition, and 56 stolen vehicles. Additionally, 22 kidnap victims were rescued, and 15 motorcycles were recovered from a gang that targeted farmers in Lagos and Ogun States.
    The Police also apprehended several suspects, including Muhammed Kabir, 36, and his gang members, who impersonated military personnel and defrauded victims of millions of naira.

    Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to safeguarding lives and properties, stating, “The Force will not relent in its pursuit of criminal elements and ensuring justice is served when due and appropriate as the extant laws of our country have laid out.”

    The Police have vowed to continue pursuing criminal elements and ensuring justice is served in accordance with the country’s laws.
