The beneficiaries, from six communities, received the compensation at an event organized by the state Lands Bureau, held at the state Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja ¹.

The communities that benefited from the compensation include Pen Cinema, Agege, for Right of Way, Abule Egba for Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) Bus Terminal, Maryland Area, for LAMATA corridor, Orile-Badagry for road expansion, Katanguwa for Tech Hub, and Oyingbo area for LAMATA ultra-modern bus terminal.

Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the presentation marked a significant milestone in the state government’s efforts to promote transparency and efficiency in land administration.

He stated that the administration is intentional in designing projects that foster economic development, promote urban resilience, and elevate the quality of life.
The governor noted that the lands acquired are not just pieces of property, but the lifelines upon which the state builds a sustainable future, establishes vital public infrastructure, and drives economic transformation.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Tinuola Adeshagba-Alegbe from Oja-Oba, expressed gratitude to the Lagos State government for the compensation, stating that she was not expecting any compensation. However, she noted that the only thing the government could have done better was to provide notice before demolition.
