SENATOR Mohammed Ali Ndume (APC Borno South) has bagged ‘The Sun Newspaper Courage in Leadership 2024’ by standing and always defending the plights of Nigerian Masses, especially his constituents at the National Assembly.
This is as the Senator will on Saturday 30th November, 2024 flag-off the distribution of Agricultural Inputs to 300 Southern Borno Dry Season Farmers, as well as 180 Members Of Ndume Sustainable Farmers across the nine (9) Local Government Areas of Borno South.
Recall that even at the last Wednesday Plenary presided over by the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, Senator Ndume alongside some of his colleagues raged over the controversial Tax Reform Bills which was sent by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for passage into Law.

Ndume’s nomination by Management and Board of Editors of The Sun Newspaper/Publishing ltd (Voice of the Nation) was contained in a later dated 27th November, addressed and handed over to the Senator, a copy which was made available to our Correspondent in Maiduguri on Thursday.
The letter reads: “On behalf of the Management of The Sun Publishing Limited, publishers of Daily Sun, Saturday Sun, Sunday Sun and Sporting Sun, we felicitate with you on your achievements in office as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“This letter is a follow-up to an earlier one informing you of your emergence as winner of The Sun Courage in Leadership Award for 2024.
“The selection for this prestigious Award was based on merit, it is the outcome of a rigorous process that lasted several weeks of debate and scrutiny by our Board of Editors.
“Ndume’s choice as winner of the Courage in Leadership Award was predicated on the following reasons: For 21 years, the Southern Borno Senator have been a federal legislator, having served as a member of the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2011, and at the Senate from 2011 to date. It has been quite an eventful period.
“At different times, Ndume have served as the Senate Leader, Chairman Senate Committee on Army, INEC, and Senate Chief Whip, among others.
“In his years at the Senate, Ndume’s Trade Mark has been speaking truth to power. Twice in his political carrier in the Senate, Ndume have been suspended for speaking his mind and standing by what he believe is for public good”. The letter explained.
Meanwhile, the Senior Legislative Aide (Media) to Senator Ndume, Comrade Junaid Jibrin Maiva has said, the former Senate Leader and Chief Whip is set to Flag-Off Ceremony and Distribution of Agricultural Inputs to 300 Southern Borno Dry Season Farmers as well as 180 Members Of Ndume Sustainable Farmers across the nine Local Government Areas of Borno South.
In a press statement on Thursday, Maiva said, “the event, which is routine, would take place on Saturday, 30th November, 2024 at the Palace of the Emir of Shani, HRH Alhaji Muhammad Nasir Mailafiya by 10am prompt. This initiative, sponsored by Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, is aimed at empowering farmers and enhancing agricultural productivity in Borno south senatorial district”.
The items to be distributed according to the statement include: 300 Water Pumping Machines, 300 Knapsack Sprayers, 1500 Pre-Planting Pesticides and 1500 Post-Planting Pesticides, as well as empowerment support to 180 Ndume Sustainable Farmers Initiative.
