Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has lauded Senator Kaka Shehu Lawal for his commitment and hard work, stating that the awarding of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) title to the Borno Central Senator represents a significant achievement in his illustrious career.
Governor Zulum made this statement while leading a delegation of dignitaries, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, to the inauguration and reception honoring Senator Lawal as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
The event, which took place yesterday at the A-Class Event Centre in Wuse 2, Abuja, was well-attended by families, supporters, and well-wishers from Borno State.
“It comes as no surprise that he has reached the pinnacle of his career,” said the Governor, emphasizing their shared experiences as commissioners during the tenure of former Governor Kashim Shettima, where he referred to Lawal’s contributions as “second to none.”
Governor Zulum encouraged Senator Lawal to focus on mentoring and training more individuals from Borno State to achieve the SAN title, aiming to cultivate local talent and promote legal excellence within the state. “As governor, I will create an enabling environment for this to happen,” he affirmed.
Zulum also offered prayers for Lawal’s continued wisdom and guidance in his professional journey.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio described Lawal as “a good ambassador, a seasoned legal practitioner, a united Nigerian, an advocate for the masses, and a reliable ally,” also commending Lawal’s impressive tenure in the National Assembly.
Other dignitaries from Borno who attended the reception included Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno (Chief Whip), Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Senator Abubakar Kyari, Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori, National Vice Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan, along with other assembly members and Hon. Ayuba Bello, Borno State APC Chairman, among others.
