    Mrs. Tinubu donates N500 million to Borno flood victims

    Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady and wife of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has donated N500m to support Borno flood victims.

    During a condolence visit to Maiduguri Government House on Wednesday, Mrs. Tinubu who was represented by wife of the Vice -President, Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima expressed concern over the devastating floods, describing it as an act of God.

    “I condole with Governor Babagana Umara Zulum and the people of Borno. Only God can compensate for their losses,” she said.

    She therefore on behalf of Renewed Hope Initiative, Nana announced the donation of N500 million to help in mitigating effect of the disaster.

    “As Muslims, we thank God, knowing whatever happens is from Him. We pray for God’s intervention to prevent future occurrence.

    Responding, Governor Zulum thanked the delegation and the donation made, which he said will go along way in assisting victims of the devastating flood.

    Likewise, as part of her solidarity visit, the Delegation paid a condolence visit to the palace of the Shehu of Borno, Dr. Abubakar Ibn Garbai Al-amin Elkanemi.

    The Shehu’s palace was hitherto submerged before it was drained after four days after the incident.

    Thousands were displaced, with homes and businesses destroyed.

    The delegation, including the wife of the Deputy Senate President, Lagos State Governor’s wife, and the wife of Governor Zulum, Dr. Falmata.
