Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Radda has paid a condolence visit to the Yar’adua family residence on September 2, 2024, following the death of Hajiya Dada Musa Yar’adua, the matriarch of the renowned Yar’adua family.
Hajiya Dada, who was the mother of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, passed away at the age of 102.
Upon receiving news of her demise, Governor Radda immediately cut short his official engagements in Daura to personally extend his condolences to the grieving family to show the deep respect and admiration the state government holds for the Yar’adua family, who have played a crucial role in the history and development of Nigeria and Katsina State and
Governor Radda was accompanied by a delegation of high-ranking officials, including the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abdullahi Jabiru Tsauri, and the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Abdullahi Garba Faskari. Other members of the State Executive Council, such as the Commissioner for Water Resources, Dr. Bashir Gambo Saulawa; the Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Bishir Tanimu Gambo; and the Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Alhaji Abba Jaye, were also present to offer their support.

During the visit, Governor Radda expressed his profound sorrow at the loss of Hajiya Dada Musa Yar’adua. He lauded her for leading an exemplary life and for being a pillar of strength not only to her family but to the entire Katsina community. “Hajiya Dada’s influence on Katsina State cannot be overstated,” Governor Radda remarked. “She was a woman of great character, who nurtured a family that has profoundly shaped the history of our state and nation. Her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.”
The Katsina Governor also offered prayers for the deceased, asking Allah to grant her soul eternal peace. He prayed for the Yar’adua family, asking Allah to give them the strength to endure this great loss. “While we mourn her passing, we must also celebrate the remarkable legacy she left behind. Her life was one of service, compassion, and unwavering faith, and I urge the family to continue in her footsteps,” he said.
