    Emulate AIG Longe’s exemplary service, IGP tells officers

    *Holds Pull-Out- Parade ceremony for AIG Longe

    The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetekun, has charged Police officers across the nation to model their service after what he described as exemplary commitment and dedication demonstrated by Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) Yetunde Longe.

    The IGP gave the charge at the Pull-Out-Parade of AIG Longe, held at the Police College , Ikeja, Lagos Tuesday, to mark the end of her illustrious career spanning 35 years.

    The Police boss who was represented by Deputy Inspector-General of Police ,DIG, Abiodun Alabi, during the official Pull-Out- Parade ceremony of AIG Yetunde Longe on Tuesday in Lagos, disclosed that she was only female cop to have served as the Force Secretary.

    Addressing the retired AIG who also clocked 60 years , he highlighted her significant contributions to the Nigeria Police Force, saying, “We will continue to draw inspiration from your wealth of experience and commitment shown throughout your career. Your career has been remarkably marked by countless acts of humility, compassion, and propriety. You have faced many challenges in the domain of policing across the nation.

    “The post you deserve due to your dedication to duty and exemplary achievements in the force, has positively impacted the force. We are so proud of you”, he said.

    In her retirement speech, AIG Longe expressed a deep sense of fulfillment as she reflected on her journey in the force.

    She said : “As I retire from the Nigeria Police Force, after reaching the mandatory age of 60 years, I am filled with pride, compliment, and fulfillment,” she said, describing her career as “an incredible, fulfilling journey dotted with formidable challenges”.

    She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve alongside dedicated officers committed to upholding the law and protecting Nigerian communities. She also expressed gratitude to her colleagues, superiors, family, and friends for their support throughout her career and vowed to continue to uphold the principles of service, integrity, and excellence in her future endeavors.

    “As I embark on a new chapter in my life, I do so with optimism, excitement, and readiness for whatever challenges and opportunities lie ahead,” she stated.
