KWAM 1 writes Gov Abiodun over exclusion from Awujale stool selection process

    Published on

Fuji music sensation Wasiu Ayinde, aka KWAM 1, has not given up on the Awujale of Ijebuland stool as the selection process goes on.

He has written to Governor Dapo Abiodun, alleging exclusion from the process by the Fusengbuwa ruling house.

In his letter, Ayinde’s lawyer, Dr. Wahab Shittu, SAN, stated, “It is clear that there are plans by the leadership of the ruling house to disenfranchise members desirous of participating in the nomination of candidates for the Awujale stool. We wish to emphasize that all members of the ruling house are entitled to attend the meeting to nominate candidates of their choice”.

The Fusengbuwa ruling house, however, dismissed Ayinde’s claims, with Vice Chairman Prof. Fassy Yusuf calling the letter “arrant nonsense”. “It is a misguided letter. Either Wahab Shittu is being misled, or Wasiu Ayinde is being misled,” Yusuf said.

The nomination meeting is set for January 12, 2026, amidst controversy. Ayinde had previously sought an interim injunction to stop the process, but it was dismissed by the Ogun State High Court.
