The leadership of the Northern Christian Youth Professionals commend (NCYP) has commend President Bola Tinubu, for once again granting free nationwide train transportation to commuters during the yuletide.

Mr Isaac Abrak, Chairman of NCYP gave the commendation in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Kaduna.

Abrak said: “This is a thoughtful gesture, which we appreciate as a Christmas gift, commencing from the 20th of the month to the 5th of January.

“This is yet another demonstration of Mr President’s compassion for the commonman and his commitment to ensuring that his reform policies bring tangible benefits to all Nigerians.

“The Christmas and New Year seasons are cherished times when families and loved ones come together to share love, joy, and memorable moments.

“By alleviating the financial burden of travel, this initiative will enable more Nigerians to celebrate the season with ease, making the festivities even more enjoyable”.

He, however, urged the management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation to address operational challenges that hindered the smooth implementation of this initiative last year, adding that the unavailability of free tickets created difficulties for many commuters.

“We urge the corporation to ensure that such hitches are resolved so that this year’s free ride can fully achieve its intended purpose.

“We also commend Nigeria’s security agencies for their commendable efforts in tackling security challenges across the country, particularly in the Northern region,” he noted.

The chairman observed that their dedication had significantly enhanced safety and stability.

“As the festive season approaches, we urge these agencies to remain steadfast and intensify efforts to ensure the safety and security of all Nigerians, allowing everyone to enjoy the joy and peace that this season brings.

“We call on Nigerians, especially Christians, to use this season of love and reflection to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the nation’s leadership.

“May God guide them in their decisions and bless their policies and programmes with success for the benefit of all citizens.

“As we celebrate, let us remain united in faith, hope, and love, striving together for a better Nigeria,” Abrak pleaded. (NAN)
