Crisis Erupted in the Hallelujah community, located in the Egbedore local government area of Osun State, on Friday, when enraged residents attacked the newly installed Ajeniju of Hallelujah, Oba Jelili Olaiya, while he attempted to conduct jumat prayers in the area.
The Ajeniju, who was installed by the Timi of Ede a few months ago against the wishes of the Ido-Osun community, was severely beaten by the crowd, who claimed he had no right to appoint a chief Imam in their territory.
Reports indicate that the monarch had last week appointed Ahmad Tijjani as the Chief Imam of Hallelujah community. While gathering people at his palace to observe jumat prayers, a group of youths, allegedly from Ido-Osun, stormed the palace and disrupted the proceedings.

Some of the aggrieved youths shouted at the monarch, questioning his authority to appoint a chief Imam and conduct jumat prayers in a community governed by another monarch.
The mob attacked the Ajeniju and vandalized the palace before security operatives arrived to intervene.
A security source, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that the situation escalated, leading to the vandalism of the palace and a physical attack on the Ajeniju, who sustained serious injuries. He has since been taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation and safety.
However, another source within the community stated that the monarch has been transferred to Osun State University Teaching Hospital in Osogbo for treatment.
Confirming the incident, the Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Security, Hon. Samuel Ojo, stated he would not comment further until the outcome of an investigation into the matter.
