The University of Birmingham is set to expand its global footprint with plans to establish a campus in Lagos, Nigeria, in collaboration with the University of Lagos.

The proposed campus, to be known as the UNILAG-Birmingham Transnational Education Campus, aims to offer a diverse range of academic programs.

According to Dr. Tunji Alausa, the campus will have a balanced composition of 50% undergraduate and 50% postgraduate students. Notably, the postgraduate programs will have a strong focus on STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) disciplines.

The final agreement to establish the campus is expected to be signed in January 2026, as stated by Dr. Alausa. This development is expected to enhance the academic landscape in Nigeria and provide students with access to world-class education.

Further details on the programs and admission requirements will be announced in due course.
