The Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID Yaba, has commenced an investigation into the mysterious death of two members of a Nollywood production crew who were found lifeless inside a parked vehicle within the premises of one hospital in Lekki phase 1, where a movie production was to be going on.
It was gathered that the producer of the movie, which was scheduled for release in the first quarter of this year, the food vendor that cooked the food the deceased and 79 other crew members ate as breakfast, and a crew member have been quizzed.
The deceased were identified as Godstime Imeh, a lighting director and Chief Executive Officer of GeeTee Light, and Walter Odediran, a Creative Video Director with the business name Director Carrinqton .
Their bodies were reportedly discovered on the evening of Saturday, February 7, 2026, inside Imeh’s car.
Sources disclosed that the film was being directed by former Big Brother Naija housemate, Boma.
Imeh, who was said to be well respected in the industry, having worked on notable productions including King of Boys, as well as music videos for top artistes such as Davido, had been friends with Odediran for years.
It was gathered that the two men arrived at the location early to install lighting equipment ahead of filming. After completing their assignment around mid-morning, they reportedly entered a tinted Nissan vehicle belonging to Imeh to rest while awaiting further instructions.
At about 11 a.m., a crew member was said to have delivered yam and omelette to them as breakfast and reportedly observed that the vehicle’s air-conditioning was running while both men were reclining in their seats.
Apprehension set in when repeated calls to their mobile phones went unanswered, by noon.
It was gathered that at the end of production in the evening, colleagues who approached the vehicle to alert them found them motionless.
Bereaved relative speaks
Speaking with our correspondent in an emotionally laden tone, the elder brother of the late Walter Odediran, who identified himself as Kola Odediran, disclosed that his younger brother died three days after turning 36.

He said his late brother, a 2017 graduate of Computer Science from Les Cours Sonou University in Cotonou, Benin Republic, lived with him in Sangotedo, Ajah.
Explaining his last moments with his late brother, the music producer said:
“Walter and I were like twin brothers. I am 37, while he was 36. He was the last-born of the family. My brother was a Cinematographer. He was very close to his friend, Godstime Imeh, also known as GeeTee Light, who is the head of the lighting department in movie productions. Imeh owned a lighting company and had boys who worked under him. Whenever he had a job, he would call my brother, and whenever my brother had one, he would call Imeh. They worked hand -in -hand.
“GeeTee got a movie shoot that kicked off on February 4, which was my late brother’s birthday. On the evening of February 2, my brother left home in Sangotedo to head to the Mainland to stay at GeeTee’s place, as they usually did before production began. They were childhood friends.
“On Saturday, February 7, they had a medical scene to shoot at Evercare Hospital, Admiralty, Lekki Phase 1. That was the location for that day’s production.
“GeeTee was the head of lighting and had his own team. Because lighting setup must be done early for the cameras to function properly, GeeTee and his team always arrived ahead of others. That Saturday morning, GeeTee, his fiancée, and my brother left GeeTee’s house together. They dropped the fiancée off on the way, while the two men proceeded to the location. They arrived around 7 a.m. The lighting team had already begun setting up equipment.

“By about 9 a.m., the lighting setup was completed. Other crew members began arriving, and production started.
“Around 10 a.m., GeeTee and my brother decided to take a break and rest inside GeeTee’s car.
“For movie productions, meals are usually arranged for cast and crew. Food was delivered that morning, and about 81 people ate from it. Meals were distributed department by department. For the lighting department, five packs were collected for GeeTee and his team ,comprising four for his workers and one for him. My brother’s food was not included because he was not officially part of the team; he only went to assist his friend.
“One of GeeTee’s boys kept his portion aside because GeeTee had stepped away. Around 11 a.m., GeeTee called and asked that his food be brought to him downstairs in the car, that his friend was hungry.
“One of his boys took the food to the car. He said that when he approached, GeeTee wound down the glass which was tinted. The engine was running, and they appeared relaxed, reclining in their seats. He handed over the food and returned to work. That was the last time anyone saw them alive.
“Around 1 p.m., GeeTee’s fiancée tried calling him, but he did not pick up. I also tried calling my brother, but there was no response. When we contacted the crew, they said they did not see his car in the space where crew members were supposed to park, so they concluded he had left.
“It wasn’t until around 7 or 8 p.m., after shooting wrapped, that the same boy went searching again. That was when they discovered the car was parked in another section of the compound, directly in front of the hospital reception area.
“They found both men inside the car. The doors were not locked, and there were no signs of struggle.
“My brother was seated upright with foam coming out of his mouth. GeeTee was slumped face down, with blood visible from his nose, eyes, and mouth. It appeared that whatever happened occurred suddenly.
“Instead of immediately calling emergency services, the boy reportedly ran upstairs to call others. Eventually, they were brought out and taken to the medical centre within the same hospital, where doctors confirmed they had already passed away hours earlier.
“The hospital did not allow us to make video recordings. The bodies were later evacuated by Evercare ambulance to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.
“It has been very difficult for our family. My mother is devastated. He was the last-born. We were just two male children. This has been extremely painful for us,” the bereaved brother said.
He said the case was initially reported at Maroko Police Station but that the matter was not treated with urgency.
” We had to take the case to the SCID, Yaba, where it was documented as an unnatural death requiring investigation and autopsy.Everybody was invited . The movie producer, Boma and the bit that served my brother the food were detained”, he said.
Police sources confirmed that investigators had questioned the film producer, the food vendor, the staff member who delivered the meal, and the management of the hospital.
As of yesterday, Sunday, February 15, 2026, the boy who served the food was still in police custody.
It was further gathered that attention has been drawn to the parking area where the vehicle in which the duo were found dead was parked, following reports that heavy-duty industrial generators were positioned above the space designated for vehicles.
Detectives as gathered, were examining whether environmental factors, possible ingestion, or mechanical issues may have contributed to the deaths.
Forensic procedures, including autopsy, toxicology tests, mechanical examination of the vehicle, and review of CCTV footage, are expected to determine the exact cause of death. X
Police authorities said investigations were ongoing and that all possibilities remain open pending the outcome of laboratory analyses.
