A Shocking incident has rocked the Agip Estate area of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State, Nigeria. A house-help, identified as Success, allegedly stabbed her madam’s 7-year-old daughter, Alicia Olajumoke, to death and then took her own life.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred on Tuesday when Success, who worked for the family, picked up Alicia from school and took her to their home, where she stabbed the young girl to death. Success then turned the knife on herself, inflicting a fatal wound to her throat.

The mother of the victim, Glory Joseph, reported the incident to the police, who confirmed the tragedy. “The scene of the crime was visited, and photographs were taken. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where she was confirmed dead. The suspect was also rushed to the same hospital and confirmed dead,” said Grace Iringe-Koko, Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command.

The police are still investigating the motive behind the heinous act, but Iringe-Koko assured that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and preliminary investigations are ongoing.

The corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue for autopsy, and further developments will be communicated.
