President Bola Tinubu has assured German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier that the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) will handle the return of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso with wisdom and diplomacy.
Tinubu, who is also the Chairman of ECOWAS, made this statement during a state visit by the German President to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Tinubu emphasized that the interest and welfare of the citizens in the three countries remain a priority for ECOWAS leaders. He noted that the leadership of the three countries has been reluctant to bring out transition programs with clear dates.
