Tragedy struck in Alwasa community, Kebbi State, as a dispute between Hausa and Fulani youths over reckless motorcycle riding escalated into violence, leaving 3 dead and many displaced.

According to reports, a Fulani youth allegedly stabbed a Hausa youth, sparking a reprisal attack on a Fulani settlement. The Chairman of Argungu Local Government, Sani Aliyu Gulma, revealed that most of those killed were innocent bystanders.

Governor Nasir Idris has condemned the violence, vowing to track down the perpetrator and ensure justice. “Alwasa has enjoyed over 100 years of peaceful coexistence between Hausa and Fulani. We won’t let a few individuals disrupt this harmony,” he said. The governor also donated ₦2 million to each of the deceased families.
