A heartbreaking incident occurred in Kaduna State’s Chikun Local Government Area on Sunday, as terrorists struck at the Oil Village, abducting a 9-year-old daughter of a farmer.
The distraught father, who wishes to remain anonymous for security reasons, appealed to the government and public-spirited individuals to ensure his daughter’s safe return. “I commend the security agencies for their prompt response, but I beg the government and well-meaning Nigerians to help rescue my 9-year-old daughter unharmed,” he pleaded.
According to the father, the four-man gang arrived at their residence around 11:45 pm on Saturday night and left with his daughter at 1 am on Sunday. “They scaled our fence through the Kaduna Refinery Quarters axis, gained access to our compound, and broke into my daughter’s room through the window,” he recounted.
The father revealed that he interacted with one of the invaders through his window before the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVIS) arrived, prompting the kidnappers to flee. “The Nigerian Army and police also arrived later, but the hoodlums had already escaped,” he said.
The police are yet to comment on the incident, but the father’s emotional plea highlights the growing concerns about insecurity in the region. “I just want my daughter back, safe and sound,” he implored.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many calling for increased security measures to protect innocent lives. The Kaduna State government has faced mounting pressure to address the rising cases of kidnapping and terrorism in the region.
