A shocking incident has unfolded in Ilorin, Kwara State, where a secondary school teacher, Mrs. Amuzat Fatima Nike, allegedly unleashed her wrath on a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.

The corps member’s offense? Failing to greet the teacher and her colleagues “properly”.
Eyewitnesses claim that the teacher, in a fit of rage, tore the corps member’s NYSC crest vest and slapped her.

The incident occurred when the corps member visited the school for her clearance letter.

The news has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for swift action against the teacher. The state government has condemned the alleged assault, describing it as “unacceptable and contrary to the values of peace and harmony”.

Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawunon, assured that disciplinary action would be taken against the accused teacher. “The concerned teacher has been summoned, and the necessary disciplinary procedures will be implemented accordingly,” she stated.

As the investigation unfolds, one thing is clear: the alleged actions of Mrs. Amuzat Fatima Nike are a stark reminder that respect and discipline must be earned, not enforced through violence.
