As Southern monarchs throng Gwandu emirate horse racing, cultural festival

APPARENTLY excited by the way traditional rulers from the west and the South throng to Gwandu to witness Gwandu emirate horse racing and cultural festival, the sultan of Sokoto, his eminence Sa,ad Abubakar the second, has advocated a coherent regional Unity in Nigeria.

The monarch made the disclosure in Birnin Kebbi, during Shiek Abdullahi Fodio lecture as part of activities lined up for the week long event organised by Gwandu emirate.

He added that traditional rulers from west and South who honoured Gwandu emirate invitation indicated that the north is a beautiful place and all our regions tightly united ” this means that we have understanding and there is no fracture in the regions and country at large, so we are calling on monarchs from other regions to work with us to sustain the existing unity in Nigeria”.

The royal father also urged other states to emulate Kebbi in terms of past governors unity to push the state forward saying the presence of Senator Adamu Aliero, Saidu Nasamu Dakin Gari and Atiku Bagudu the immediate past governor of Kebbi state clearly means that there is no rancour between unlike what is happening in other States which such attitudes are slowing down developments and creating insecurity in states where past governors are fighting each other.
