    Southern Senators forum expresses sympathy over Borno flooding, calls for collective action

    The Southern Senators Forum (SSF) has expressed deep sadness over the devastating floods in Borno State, which resulted in loss of lives, displacement of communities, and destruction of properties.

    In a statement signed by Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, the forum sympathized with the government and people of Borno State and commended the efforts of emergency response agencies and humanitarian organizations providing relief and support to the victims.

    The SSF called on relevant government agencies to intensify efforts to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change and implement effective flood control measures to safeguard lives and properties.

    The forum also urged all Nigerians to support the ongoing relief efforts and continue to pray for the speedy recovery of those affected.

    The statement read, “We stand in solidarity with all those who have been affected by this natural disaster and commit to working with our colleagues across the country to prevent such occurrences in the future.

    “May Almighty Allah comfort the families of the victims and grant the government and people of Borno State the wisdom, strength, and courage to rebuild.”

    The SSF’s statement demonstrates their commitment to collective action in addressing the challenges posed by climate change and natural disasters, and their solidarity with the people of Borno State in this difficult time.
