Abuja – Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima has directed the adoption of technology-driven strategies to combat terrorism, cybercrime, and border security challenges facing Nigeria and the African continent.
According to Shettima, Africa and Nigeria are navigating troubling times, requiring innovative solutions to address security and economic challenges. He emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in addressing issues in agriculture, healthcare, financial inclusion, and security.
Shettima noted that Nigeria’s youthful population, with an average age of 16.9 years, is a significant asset in bridging skill gaps and tackling challenges. He also highlighted the successful implementation of security measures by the Governor of Enugu State and the achievements of Nigerian unicorns such as Moniepoint, Interswitch, Flutterwave, and OPay.

The Vice President challenged leaders to remain optimistic and proactive, emphasizing that AI can help combat emerging threats and enhance border security. He also acknowledged the success of the Executive Intelligence Management Course 17, which has fostered rigorous academic discussion and innovative problem-solving.
