Shell Nigeria shines at NAPE Conference: Wins multiple awards for excellence

Published on

Shell companies in Nigeria and their staff took home top honors at the 42nd Annual International Conference and Exhibition of the National Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) in Lagos.

The company was named Best Overall Exhibitor and Best Exhibiting Energy Company (International), solidifying its position as a leader in the industry.

Geophysicist Somime Oguntola earned the Award of Excellence for Oral Paper (second place), while Johnbosco Uche, a Shell staff member, was installed as the new President of NAPE.

Shell’s commitment to Nigeria’s energy sector was highlighted by Ronald Adams, Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo), who pledged to address the country’s energy trilemma through sustainable energy security. Adams cited SNEPCo’s operations as an example of Shell’s contribution to Nigeria’s energy security, noting the company’s sustained production from Bonga has financed development, created jobs, and empowered indigenous contractors.

Shell’s robust participation in the NAPE conference and exhibition demonstrated its dedication to Nigeria’s energy future. As a major sponsor, the company showcased its expertise through career counseling, Nigerian Content and Contractor development, and panel sessions on Women in Industry and Sustainability Energy Challenge
