Senator Suswam denies plans to defect to APC

Former Governor of Benue State and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Senator Gabriel Suswam, has denied rumors that he plans to defect to the All-Progressives Congress (APC).

Rumors had circulated that Suswam was planning to leave the PDP following a disagreement with the outcome of the party’s congresses in Benue State. However, in a statement released by his media aide, Bede Bartholomew, Suswam clarified that there was no truth to the reports.

The statement read: “It has been brought to my attention of a news on the Benue Social media space that Sen. Gabriel Suswam is poised to leave the PDP and to join the APC. Please discontinuance the news as it doesn’t represent the interest of the leader of our great party in the state.”

Suswam emphasized that while he reserves the right to join any legitimate political association of his choice, he has not discussed any plans to leave the PDP with anyone.
“I therefore want to urge everyone to discountenance such news as it is just what it is, a fake news with no substance or meaning,” the statement concluded.
