In the spirit of the season, Senator Idiat Adebule, representing Lagos West, has launched the distribution of 1,200 50kg bags of rice to her constituents. This initiative marks the third rice distribution effort by the senator, aimed at bringing joy to the people of Lagos West during the Yuletide season.
According to Senator Adebule, the rice distribution is a gesture to alleviate the economic hardship faced by many Nigerians. She praised President Bola Tinubu for his support in reaching out to Nigerians through food palliatives, acknowledging the government’s efforts to cushion the effects of the high cost of living.
Senator Adebule urged Nigerians to support the government in its quest to deliver stability, peace, and sustainable prosperity. Expressing optimism about the country’s future, she said, “The worst is over, and we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel.”
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, attended the event, and Senator Adebule thanked him for his presence, describing it as a sign of commitment to the people.

As 2024 draws to a close, Senator Adebule reflected on the challenges and triumphs faced by the people of Lagos West, the largest senatorial district in Nigeria. She highlighted her support for various initiatives, including entrepreneurial training, starter packs, and financial assistance for 1,000 youths and women.
Some of the notable projects facilitated by Senator Adebule include: Classroom Block at Community Primary School, Oshodi: A project aimed at improving educational infrastructure in the district. Skill Acquisition Centre at Adeleye Primary School, Mushin: An initiative designed to equip youths and women with valuable skills to enhance their economic prospects.
Yilwatda commended Senator Adebule for her efforts in putting smiles on the faces of her constituents. He also hailed President Tinubu for mitigating the economic challenges faced by Nigerians.
The minister announced plans for conditional cash transfers, which will benefit 15 million households, as well as grants and loans targeting vulnerable groups, including farmers and small businesses.
