The Lagos State Printing Corporation (LSPC) on Friday, 23rd, 2026, witnessed a historic and deeply symbolic moment as the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, commissioned the newly renovated Alhaji G.K. Oseni Central Mosque within the Corporation’s premises.

The Governor, represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Muhammed Tajudeen, who performed the commissioning on his behalf during a special Jumat service held at the mosque.

The commissioning took place in the presence of top government dignitaries, senior public officials, religious leaders, members of the LSPC Management and staff, as well as Muslim worshippers from communities around the Corporation.

Performing the commissioning on behalf of the Governor, Dr. Tajudeen conveyed Governor Sanwo-Olu’s message, describing the mosque as a powerful symbol of faith, unity, and institutional heritage. He commended the Management of LSPC for preserving not just infrastructure, but history and values. He noted that naming the mosque after Alhaji Ganiyu Kola Oseni was a fitting tribute to a man whose leadership laid the foundation for what the Corporation has become today, emphasising that institutions grow stronger when they honour their pioneers and transmit their values to future generations.

He further encouraged staff of the Corporation to see the mosque not merely as a place of worship, but as a centre for moral renewal, discipline, and reflection, reminding them that productivity and excellence are strengthened by strong ethical and spiritual foundations.

In his welcome address, the General Manager of the Lagos State Printing Corporation, Hon. (Dr.) Kolawole Peregrino expressed profound gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu for the honour accorded the Corporation and for his continued support for its growth and transformation. He described the commissioning as a defining moment in the history of LSPC, noting that the mosque represents both spiritual upliftment and institutional memory.

The General Manager stated that naming the mosque after Alhaji G.K. Oseni was a deliberate decision to immortalise a man whose pioneering leadership, vision, and dedication gave LSPC its firm footing. He noted that Alhaji Oseni’s legacy of discipline, service, and excellence remains a guiding light for the Corporation, adding that the mosque would stand as a daily reminder to staff of the values that built the institution.

Also in attendance were the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Olanrewaju Adetokunbo Bajulaye; the major donor for the mosque reconstruction, Alhaji Akeem Apatira; Alhaja Sikirat Abimbola Jakande, Wife of the first civilian Governor of Lagos State under whose administration the Lagos State Printing Corporation was established over 50 years ago; members of the Oseni family, religious leaders; as well as management and staff of LSPC.

The event marked not only the completion of a major spiritual and infrastructural upgrade, but also the immortalisation of a towering legacy in the history of the Corporation.

The mosque was named in honour of Alhaji Ganiyu Kola Oseni, the pioneer Chairman of the Lagos State Printing Corporation, whose visionary leadership laid the foundation for the growth, stability, and enduring relevance of the institution.

The renovation of the mosque reflects LSPC’s commitment to preserving places of worship and nurturing moral and spiritual values within its community. It stands as a serene sanctuary for staff and visitors, fostering unity, reflection, and faith within the workplace.

The honour was made even more significant as it coincided with Alhaji Oseni’s 80th birthday, celebrated on the same day. The occasion, therefore, became a convergence of gratitude, history, and celebration, recognising a life devoted to service, leadership, and community upliftment.

The Alhaji G.K. Oseni Central Mosque now stands not only as a place of worship, but also as a living monument – one that will inspire present and future generations to uphold the values of integrity, service, and legacy. It is a powerful reminder that institutions thrive when they remember and honour those who laid their foundations.

Through this commissioning, LSPC reinforces its belief that progress is richest when it is anchored in gratitude, heritage, and purpose, and when leadership is celebrated not only in words, but in enduring symbols.
