Real estate syndicate led by Lawrence Onwukwem, accused of new scandal

Published on

A real estate syndicate led by Lawrence Onwukwem, Isaiah Ijele, and their associates is facing fresh allegations of fraud, theft, and illegal evictions, despite being convicted of similar crimes.

The group, operating as Greenbirch Tech Ltd, allegedly deceived innocent Nigerians into renting properties in their care. A Lagos resident, Oyinkansola Talabi, accused them of a midnight invasion and state-sponsored terror at her Pebblerock Apartments home in Oniru, Lagos, on February 6, 2026.

This incident echoes a previous case where residents of 16 units of 3-bedroom apartments in Lekki Phase 1 accused Greenbirch Limited of unlawful break-ins, theft, and harassment. The apartments, owned by RAO Investment Property Company Limited, were allegedly being disputed by Greenbirch Tech Limited.

Onwukwem, Ijele, and their associates were recently jailed for six months for contempt of court after forcefully ejecting a tenant and stealing their belongings. However, only one of the accused, Sodiq Kazeem, is currently serving the jail term, while the others, including Onwukwem and Ijele, are reportedly in hiding.
