Presidential amnesty scholarship student achieves first-class honors in law, 60 others excel in various disciplines

Kemien Egbekun, a student on the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) scholarship scheme, has graduated with a first-class degree in Law from the Michael and Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU) with a CGPA of 4.77.

Two other PAP-sponsored students, Oladapo Damilola and Toikumo Prosper, also achieved second-class upper-division grades in Law at the same institution.

According to Dr. Charles Ariye, Head of Education, no fewer than 60 PAP-sponsored students have made first-class grades in various disciplines between 2016 and 2023 at partnering universities. These disciplines include engineering, computer science, accounting, law, and more.

The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, has expressed delight over the students’ academic achievements, stating that they reinforce the program’s success in advancing human capital development in the Niger Delta.

He thanked President Bola Tinubu for his support and commitment to sustainable peace, stability, and development in the region.
