PDP ready to lead Nigeria again — Saraki

    Published on

Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki has stated that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is ready to take back its leading role in Nigeria. This follows an important meeting of the PDP Strategy and Way Forward Committee in Enugu State on Friday.

At the meeting, party leaders discussed internal challenges and created a plan to strengthen the party.

Key figures present included former Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Seriake Dickson, and former Gombe State Governor Senator Ibrahim Dankwambo. They focused on resolving internal conflicts and building a clear strategy for the party’s future.

Saraki, who chairs the committee, expressed strong belief in the PDP’s potential.

He said, “We didn’t sidestep the issues. We confronted the fractures in our foundation, asked the hard questions, and began shaping a real, workable plan to move our party forward. I believe in the PDP. I believe in what it has stood for and what it can still become, if we’re willing to do the hard, unglamorous work of rebuilding from the inside out.”

These efforts come at a critical time as the PDP works to position itself as a strong opposition to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Saraki remained hopeful, stressing the party’s focus on unity, strategy, and good governance to regain its place in Nigerian politics.

“The road ahead won’t be easy. It will test us and demand more from each of us. But I leave Enugu more convinced than ever: we have the people, the resolve, and the clarity to rise to the occasion, and to lead again,” he added.
