Gov Sen. Monday Okpebholo has launched the construction of Edo State’s first flyover bridge at Ramat Park in Benin City, a crucial step towards alleviating traffic congestion in the state capital.
This project is part of Okpebholo’s administration’s efforts to transform the economy and social fortunes of Benin City and Edo State.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, Governor Okpebholo announced plans to construct two more flyover bridges at Dawson Road Junction and Sapele Road/Adesuwa Road Junction, all in Benin City.
The Ramat Park flyover is expected to provide a new lease of life for motorists in Benin City and commuters along the Benin-Auchi Expressway and Benin-Asaba Expressway.

Okpebholo emphasized the significance of Ramat Park as a gateway to Benin City and other parts of the country, highlighting the need for a befitting facelift to encourage tourism development.
The governor appreciated the Speaker and members of the House of Assembly for their cooperation and urged the contractor, CCECC Nigeria Limited, to work diligently to meet the 18-month completion period.
Residents of the area, including Amen Ogbemudia, daughter of a former Governor, and Emmanuel Aigbogun, a youth from Oregbeni Community, expressed gratitude to the governor for his visionary leadership and commitment to improving the state’s infrastructure.
Okpebholo assured Edo people that his administration would abide by all relevant laws during the project’s execution.
This development is a promising step towards addressing traffic congestion in Edo State, and the people are eagerly awaiting the completion of the project.
