Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, at about 11:24am cast his vote in the ongoing local government election at Polling Unit 002, Ita Osanyin, Iperu Ward 3 in the Ikenne Local Government Area of the state.
Abiodun, while speaking with journalists after casting his vote, commended the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission for its preparedness to ensure the success of the election.
The governor said that there were some glitches with the logistics, but everything has been resolved stressing that election materials have reached every nook and cranny of the state.
“Let me first appreciate the OGSIEC for their level of preparedness and diligence to conduct free, fair, and credible polls.
“However, in any election, we can not rule out some logistics hiccups but by and large I have been informed that as of now, the election materials have reached every nook and cranny of the state and voting has commenced in earnest,” Abiodun explained.
He also commended the turnout of voters for the exercise, saying that this implies people’s confidence and the assurance that their choices, as expressed during voting, will tally with the results.
The governor has, however, called on the media to be objective with their reportage so as not to mislead members of the public.
