    NYCN-Europe names Prince Emre Magboh Patron

    *As council set to attend UN Youth Summit in Thailand

    In A significant development for Nigerian youth in Europe, Prince Emre Magboh has been appointed as the Patron of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Europe chapter. The announcement was made by the Governor of the council, Ambassador Collins Idahosa, who emphasized the invaluable experience Magboh brings to the role.

    Magboh, who previously served as the President of the Nigerian Community Turkey (NICOT), is renowned for his extensive background in business, logistics, and community development. With over two decades of experience, he has a proven track record of successfully establishing and managing enterprises across various sectors, including freight logistics, hospitality, and real estate.

    Reacting to the appointment, Magboh said he plans to leverage his rich expertise to enhance the council’s initiatives aimed at empowering Nigerian youths living abroad.
    He also said collaboration with various Nigerian businesses and institutions would help to facilitate platforms for skill sharing and employment possibilities.

    The council Governor, Ambassador Collins Idahosa said drawing from Magboh’s experience in community engagement during his term at NICOT, “I have no doubt he would foster active participation among Nigerian youths in Europe in community development projects, reinforce cultural ties and promote cooperative efforts among diaspora communities.

    Prince Emre Magboh’s influential leadership during his two terms at NICOT demonstrated his commitment to unity and development among Nigerians in Turkey. He facilitated dialogue between the Nigerian community and embassy officials, creating valuable opportunities for Nigerians abroad. His accolades, including the Ozor Chieftaincy Title and the Peace Ambassador Award, underscore his dedication to fostering peace and development. His appointment as Patron of the NYCN-Europe chapter is seen as a pivotal move toward enhancing the voice of Nigerian youth in the diaspora, with expectations that under his guidance, the council will thrive and become a beacon of opportunity and empowerment.

    Meanwhile, the council has officially announced its participation in the upcoming United Nations Youth Summit, scheduled to take place from July 14 to 18, 2025, at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.
    The delegation will include key members such as the Governor, Coordinators, Directors, and esteemed volunteers from the Council, all of whom are set to engage in a global dialogue focused on youth leadership and human rights.

    The Summit Director and Brand Ambassador for Youth for Human Rights International based in Washington D.C., Dr. Shaleen Das, recently issued an invitation to the Council, expressing her enthusiasm for their involvement.
    “It is with great pleasure and deep respect that I extend this official invitation to you to participate in the upcoming Youth Summit 2025,” Dr. Das stated.

    The prestigious event will bring together youth leaders from around the world and is supported by more than ten international organizations and partners. The summit aims to engage with global thought leaders and policy influencers, participate in interactive workshops focusing on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), human rights, and social impact initiatives, foster multicultural dialogue, allowing participants to expand their international networks, develop actionable solutions to pressing challenges faced by youth and communities globally, as well as provide a platform for participants to raise their voices on issues that drive meaningful change.
