Sweden – Ambassador Collins Idahosa of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Europe region, urged Nigerian state governors to establish State Diaspora Agencies. This initiative, he said would help in tapping into the vast resources and expertise of the Nigerian diaspora, which can significantly contribute to economic development and global partnerships.

In his Easter message titled “Messages of Hope”, Idahosa who is based in Sweden said: “By establishing these agencies, our states can attract investments and create new opportunities for growth,” Idahosa emphasized. He specifically called on governors from all 36 states, including Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, and Anambra, to take action, citing the successful examples set by Edo and Kwara states. “The potential to unlock new avenues for development and growth in our states is immense,” he stated.

The message reads:

“As we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, I, Ambassador Collins Idahosa, extend warm Easter greetings to each and every one of you. May this season of renewal and hope bring joy, peace, and prosperity to your families and loved ones.

Establishing State Diaspora Agencies

“On this occasion, I would like to call on state governors in Nigeria to establish State Diaspora agencies in their respective states. This move will enable our states to tap into the vast resources, expertise, and networks of their diaspora communities. By doing so, our states can attract investments, promote economic development, and foster global partnerships.

“I specifically call on Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Abia, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Enugu, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe, and Zamfara.

“I urge these state governors to emulate the examples of Edo and Kwara states, which have already established diaspora agencies. These agencies have the potential to unlock new opportunities for development and growth in our states.

“As we celebrate this Easter season, I call on our state governors to support the current Federal government’s efforts to deliver on its promises. By working together, we can build a brighter future for our nation and create opportunities for all Nigerians.

Hope for the youths

“As young Nigerians in Europe, we are the future leaders and change-makers of our great nation. I urge you to continue investing in your future through qualitative education, technological advancement, and entrepreneurship. These are the building blocks of a brighter tomorrow, and I have no doubt that together, we can achieve greatness.

“As we look forward to the day when our beloved country will be a better place for all, I want you to know that your contributions will be invaluable. Your skills, expertise, and innovative ideas will be crucial in shaping our nation’s social, economic, and technological development.

“Let us hold on to hope and work towards a brighter future for Nigeria. Together, we can build a nation that is prosperous, peaceful, and full of opportunities for all. I believe in each and every one of you, and I know that together, we can achieve greatness.

“Happy Easter, and may God bless us all.

Best regards,

Ambassador Collins Idahosa
