Nigeria collaborates with ICAO for sustainable aviation system

Published on

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, reaffirms Nigeria’s commitment to working with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to establish a safe, efficient, and environmentally sustainable national aviation system.

He is currently representing Nigeria at the ICAO’s inaugural Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) symposium in Montréal, Canada.

The symposium, themed “Advanced Air Mobility, AAM, Global Harmonisation and Interoperability: Challenges and Opportunities,” brings together key stakeholders from the aviation industry, academia, governments, and international organizations to discuss innovative concepts in AAM, including electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, vertiports, automation, airspace integration, and trust frameworks.

Nigeria is joined by international attendees from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Rwanda, Ghana, and other countries, with the goal of exchanging research, best practices, and lessons learned to integrate AAM into the global aviation system.

The symposium emphasizes collective action and provides opportunities for networking, bilateral engagement, and showcasing the latest technologies in the rapidly evolving AAM sector.
