    Refinery Capacity

The new Port Harcourt refinery boasts an impressive 150,000 barrels per day (bpd) capacity, complemented by the old refinery’s 60,000 bpd capacity, totaling 210,000 bpd.

Abudulai emphasized that upon completion, the refinery will be “up and running to the state of art compared to any refinery around the world” with strict adherence to health and safety compliance. The rehabilitation involves replacing aging assets and ensuring optimal performance.

    Progress update

According to reports from contractor Tecnimont SPA, the project has achieved over 90% completion.
NNPCL is working closely to ensure timely completion and value for investment.

    Production Capacity

The old plant is currently operating at 90% throughput, producing 1.4 million liters of petrol, diesel, and kerosene daily. Both refineries share facilities, including storage tanks and power plants.
This development marks significant progress in Nigeria’s refining capacity, promising enhanced energy security and economic growth.
