Chairman of the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, has reassured Nigerian pilgrims that none of them will miss the 2025 Hajj.
This comes after allegations surfaced that he had cancelled contracts with Saudi-based Muaashir Companies, potentially jeopardizing the pilgrimage.
“I want to assure you that no pilgrim will miss this year’s Hajj. We are doing everything according to the dictate of the laws and honesty,” Professor Usman said, debunking the allegations.
He explained that the contract was actually cancelled by the Saudi government, not him. “The contract with the Saudi Arabia-based company was cancelled by the same Saudi government, and they later approved it and subsequently cancelled it for the second time. So, you can see that I have nothing to do with the cancellation.”
Professor Usman emphasized that he’s working diligently to ensure a successful Hajj, and is currently in Saudi Arabia to oversee the preparations.

“Because of this up and down, I’m right now in Saudi Arabia to ensure that what is right is being done.”
He expressed his commitment to making the 2025 Hajj one of the best, despite the challenges and misinformation.
“Our preparation at NAHCON has almost been completed, and we have no problems. Insha’Allah, we are going to achieve high-quality results.”
“All those spreading lies against us would see us making achievements beyond their negative expectations, and we will make this year’s Hajj one of the best by the will of Allah,” Professor Usman concluded.
