The Minister of State for Education, Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, has reaffirmed her commitment to tackling the country’s pressing education challenges, particularly mass literacy and out-of-school children.
This pledge aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Dr. Ahmad emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts, citing her recent meeting with partners from the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) and the Non-Governmental Association of Literacy Support Services (NOGALSS). “Our goal is to ensure educational progress reaches all communities,” she stated.
Highlighting the crucial role of development partners in grassroots education, Dr. Ahmad noted their importance in advancing digital literacy and inclusive learning.

“We recognize the vital role development partners play in grassroots education,” she said.
The Minister’s ultimate objective is to meet the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) for Quality Education, ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all.
In a notable achievement, NOGALSS has provided basic digital training to 1,200 learners across six states. Dr. Ahmad welcomed this initiative, saying, “Together, we aim to create a legacy of knowledge, empowerment, and inclusivity that transforms the lives of Nigerians through functional and lifelong learning opportunities.”
As a seasoned educationist, gender advocate, and consultant with over 17 years of experience, Dr. Ahmad is well-equipped to tackle Nigeria’s educational challenges.
Her academic background, including a PhD in Science Education from Ahmadu Bello University, has prepared her to address issues in science education and promote gender equity.
