Media practitioner warns parents, students against half-baked education

*As Hartford Academy holds valedictory, 10th anniversary

A Media Practitioner and columnist with Vanguard newspaper, Ishola Balogun has warned parents and students against the dangers of dropping out of school, adding that uneducated children will willy-nilly destroy the existing infrastructure in the society.

He stated that no matter the alibi put forward, even with the notion of learning skills or apprenticeship for livelihood, there are certain opportunities a child can never access without proper education and certificate.

Balogun who was the guest speaker during the valedictory session and 10th anniversary of Hartford Academy, Graceland, Agbara, Lagos said that the government should assist the private sector in terms of funding and policy making.

“Government should assist the private sector in terms of funding and policy making. This is because education succeeds at all levels including the private sector, the country will be better for it.
Highlighting some of the demotivation against education, he stated that there should be strong political will among political leaders to fight corruption in the country, which makes students believe that they can make it through the back door.

“Severe punishment should be meted to discourage financial crimes and other corrupt practices associated with social psychology abusive and arrogant and oppressive lifestyles.

Highlights of the event were impressive performances by pupils and students of the school displaying both academic and cultural skills to the admiration of parents and guests at the event.
