A Federal High Court in Ibadan has remanded one Musendiku Jimoh in a correctional centre after pleading guilty to trafficking 630 grams of Cannabis Sativa.
Justice Nkeonye Maha ordered Jimoh to be remanded in Agodi Correctional Centre and adjourned the suit until April 15 for review of facts and sentencing.
The defendant had pleaded guilty to the one-count charge of unlawful dealing in narcotics.
Counsel to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in in Oyo State, Mr Daniel Otunla had told the court that the defendant committed the crime on Jan. 10, at Ona Ara area, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Otunla stated that NDLEA operatives arrested Jimoh following intelligence reports from informants indicating that he was in possession of a sack containing 630 grams of cannabis, a narcotic substance similar to cocaine and heroin.
He said that the offence contravened the provision of section 11(C ) of the NDLEA Act Cap n30 law of the federation 2004. (NAN)
