The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed that the city remains a safe, secure, and investment-friendly destination, debunking misconceptions about Nigeria’s business environment.
Mrs. Adebobo Oyekan-Ismaila, Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, stated this while receiving members of Eko Club Atlanta, saying, “Lagos remains the safest and most secure State in Nigeria. There is peace across the city, and this continues to attract investors, tourists, and partners from around the world.”
The successful hosting of the E1 Lagos Grand Prix in October 2025 was cited as a testament to Lagos’ capacity to deliver world-class events, with Oyekan-Ismaila emphasizing that peace and security have been major enablers of tourism growth, creative enterprise, and diaspora partnerships.
“We are proud of the consistent collaboration with organisations like Eko Club Atlanta, whose humanitarian and cultural initiatives complement the government’s efforts to improve lives,” she added.
Eko Club Atlanta has been working closely with the Lagos State Government, and their efforts have yielded positive results. The Club’s President, Honourable Deji Ajiboye, praised the Lagos State Government for its visionary leadership, saying, “We are proud to align our activities with the vision of the Lagos State Government.”
The Eyo Festival, a historic cultural event, is set to return before the end of the year, with preparations already underway. Oyekan-Ismaila confirmed this, assuring a colourful and well-organised celebration befitting Lagos’ rich cultural heritage.
The Lagos State Government has expressed its commitment to fostering partnerships and collaborations that drive sustainable development and reinforce Lagos as the Centre of Excellence.
